Guided Reading

The best way to learn a language is dynamic immersion - to surround yourself with that language by reading, writing, and listening to living content. Luckily we have any number of books to increase our knowledge of Quran Arabic.

But reading a book in a new language can be intimidating. Guided reading - or reading while a teacher / mentor explains and corrects is a really good way to overcome the challenge.

In this section you will find a list of many classical Arabic books along with videos and audios to give you a guided reading experience even when you don’t have a teacher or mentor to help. The books are starting from easy and going all the way to more difficult ones.

Towards the end of this collection some books do not have guided reading videos. For the books where no guided reading is available reading a translation side by side can be helpful. These books also have accompanying audio to overcome the challenge of reading without tashkeel (vowel signs). These books will help you transition from guided reading to independent reading, insha Allah.

This is a work in progress and I will keep adding new books/resources so please check back often.

Prerequisite for this section

You can start reading these books alongside other courses. But ideally you should first complete the three Madinah Books before you will be able to understand these books.

القرآن تدبر وعمل

by Alminhaj Center for Educational Supervision and Training

Quran tadabbur wa amal

This book takes a unique aproach. For every page of the Quran, meanings of the new words are given in Arabic. It also contains short excerpts from the authentic tafaseer like Ibn Katheer, Qurtubi etc., points to reflect upon and lessons to be drawn. This is an ideal book to study before starting on the study of more detailed books of tafseer. It is an Arabic only version and no translation is available so I have decided to keep it at the end of this collection.
